Fix : iPhone No Service Error While Roaming

When you are traveling to the far-fetched countries with your iPhone, having no service is the most dreaded one of all the issues you can face with your gadgets. Imagine being in an unknown land and not being able to connect to anyone or use your GPS for navigation. You could easily be lost.

What Can You Do?

When your iPhone is not able to connect to a network carrier or is unable to establish the cellular or internet connection, it shows you this error. The first thing you must do is switch off your LTE or 4G to 3G or 2G.

Go to your settings and then to the mobile data. Go to the mobile data options and tap on 3G. Now toggle your airplane mode to off and on. This should let you connect to the network and the carrier.

Now don’t mistake this for the thing that the country or the state not supporting the LTE or 4G connection services. The idea is often a phone on roaming can’t connect to 4G. This usually works for 80%-90% of the times. However, if this doesn’t solve your problem, you can explore other solutions as well.

Check The Settings

Make sure that your roaming settings are turned on along with your cellular data. If you haven’t turned them on, you will not be able to connect to the network carrier.

Also, see if you have any updates available. Check the general setting tab. And if you have inserted a new sim, you must download its settings, else, you will not be able to receive any service. Also, update your OS if you have any update available.

Reset The Settings

Turn off your iPhone, take out the sim, reinsert it and turn the phone on. See if this helps. If the issue persists, reset your network settings. Go to the general tab in settings, then move to reset and select reset network settings. This will reset APN, VPN, Wifi settings, passwords and cellular settings.

Contact Your Carrier

If you are still not able to get the service on your phone, contact your service provider. There have been many issues where the account of the user has been canceled for all sorts of reason. So, verify with them if your account is active.

Ask them if there is the network outage in the area where you are now. And also check that your roaming is enabled and you have proper roaming plans activated.

Usually, you will have the no service issue sorted with the help of these methods. However, if you are still facing the problem, it is best to go for a local sim until your issue is resolved. Sometimes, it could be because of issues with your device.

However, you shouldn’t reset it without the network. You will not only not be able to take the backup, but your iPhone will not be properly reset. In that case, your device will become useless to you. You will not be able to use any function in it, not even with the new local sim. So, better spend a little on the new local sim and use it while you are there.
