We love holidays here at Global Cool, especially ones that are kinder to the planet, like going on a Traincation. We also love looking at how people from all over the world are doing their bit to keep this world beautiful.
Here’s our weekly guide to the world’s greatest green beaches…
Playa Matapalo, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
Osa Peninsula is known as the lungs of the Earth due to the density of the forest that provides the backdrop to Playa Matapalo.
This beach is popular with surfers, but is still off the beaten track. All power in the area comes from solar energy, and there are no shops, bars or restaurants, which is why the area is so unspoiled.
Much of Costa Rica’s wildlife can be found here, as well as the marine turtle protection project, as conservation is an important issue to the people of Costa Rica.
See what we can do when we look after this planet of ours?
