Sun, sea and sailing on Traincation to the pretty coastlines of Brittany

on in Uncategorized

Flying is so yesterday. If you want to avoid expensive taxis and getting perved on by the new airport security checks, then trains are the only way to get around. Whether you’re looking to large it in Latvia or get kinky in Helsinki, Traincation expert Hollie Wicks bring you the the weird and wonderful of European Traincations

This month we’re loving our water activity breaks, so this week we are sending you for a spot of sailing on Traincation in France…

What’s all the fuss?
Brittany Sailing is a friendly company that brings you the opportunity to sail the warm waters along the Brittany coastline without a care in the world.

They offer ‘Sail and Stay’ holidays which consist of one week relaxing and exploring the coastline whilst getting a but active with activities such as mountain biking, surfing and fishing. The following five days are spent sailing the beautiful Brittany coast including visits to the most famous and stunning ports and islands. Richard will be your RYA instructor, who will be with you on your journey onboard the Cornish Legend, an impressive 34” steel yacht, and if desired you can take the RYA practical sailing course during your stay for no extra cost.

Presqu’ile de Crozon is the nearest town to the accommodation, which has been generally undiscovered by tourists as many just pass through on their way to the South. While travelling into the town prepare to be blown away by the scenery as you roll past towering cliffs and long picturesque sandy beaches, before arriving at the pretty destination.

When booking your stay be sure to check the website for advice on what to take as a crew member.

Getting there
Travelling to France is really easy! From London catch the TGV high speed train to Brest, and book the journey with this website http://www.tgv.co.uk/. It really is that easy, that’s why we love travelling via train more than a plane! Visit Loco2 or RailEurope for tickets and help with booking.

For some of the views along the way (and to see just how fast the TGV goes) check out this video…
