Leonardo DiCaprio Donates $15M to Protect Wildlife
Actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio gave out $15 million in grants this year to environmental organizations working on conservation projects around the world.
“The destruction of our planet continues at a pace we can no longer afford to ignore,” said actor said in a statement.
Topshop Goes Green With “Reclaim” Collection of Upcycled Clothing
Looks like the training wheels are off. Following the success of Topshop’s collaborations with Reclaim to Wear, the waste-reducing initiative founded by Orsola de Castro and Filippo Ricci of From Somewhere, the high-street retailer is launching its first stand-alone collection of womenswear derived from existing stock, including surplus materials and production offcuts from previous seasons.
It’s spawned festivals and memes, is a cornerstone of the meat-eaters diet and a bane of vegetarians. Bacon is irresistible apparently, but it too may have a healthy, plant-based doppelgänger.
Launching this week, the Kering-backed venture is Slater’s attempt to “smash the formula” by creating stylish garments for men in a sustainable and transparent manner.
