Non-Stealable Bike

By Jack Sullivan

They say your university years are the best of your life – 3 years spent meeting new people and having ridiculous amounts of fun (most of which you won’t remember). Oh, and doing the odd bit of work.

But for three Engineering students at the University of Adolfo Ibáñez in Chile, their time at University helped them invent something pretty darn cool…

Project Yerka is the name, and preventing bike theft is the game. Together, Andrés Roi, Cristóbal Cabello, and Juan José Monsalve have developed the world’s first bike that can’t be stolen. By making the lock out of the frame of the bike itself, breaking the lock would mean breaking the bike – essentially making any attempts to steal it pointless. Could it be as good as it sounds?

To discover how this genius invention works, watch the video below…

GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…
/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/ Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
