Because looking your best doesn’t have to cost the Earth…
We heart Reformation! This awesome sustainable fashion brand has just release their new Spring line and we want everything on the list. It’s cute, it’s 70’s inspired and it’s not too harsh on ol’ Mother Earth either.
Reformation design, manufacture, photograph, and ship everything they make from the same building in sunny LA. Their secret weapon to sustainability and cuteness is in the materials. As they say on their website “The textile industry is one of the the most chemically dependent industries on earth and the #2 polluter of clean water. Yuck.”
So in order to change that, Reformation make their clothes from three different types of materials:
1) new bad ass sustainable materials,
2) repurposed vintage clothing and
3) rescued deadstock fabric from fashion houses that over-ordered.
They incorporate green solutions in everything they do too. They recycle, use clean energy, eco friendly packaging, energy-efficient fixtures and appliances, recycled hangers, eco friendly tote bags, unbleached/chlorine free paper products, organic and sustainable kitchen products, 75% recycled paper content, FSC certified paper, soy-based inks, recycled/sustainable office supplies, non-toxic janitorial products…the list goes on.
They also make everything in the factory to ensure not only quality but sustainability and ethics are upheld. They also offer their entire staff fair wages, health insurance, ping pong tables and basketball hoops. Sounds pretty darn good to us.
Here comes the science bit…
GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…
