Turn your clothes #insideout for Fashion Revolution Day!

Because being part of the Fashion Revolution doens’t have to cost the Earth…

Fashion Revolution

Fashion is a force to be reckoned with. It celebrates, provokes, and entertains. And, today April 24 2014, it’s going to do even more. Because Fashion Revolution are turning fashion into a force for good.

On April 24 last year, 1133 people were killed and over 2500 were injured when the Rana Plaza factory complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Yet social and environmental catastrophes in the fashion supply chains aren’t going anywhere. Fashion Revolution Day says enough is enough. They encourage you to be curious – find out who made your clothes — from who spun the threads, to who sewed them together, to who grew the cotton in the first place.

How can you get involved?
1. Wear your clothes #insideout today, to remind people that clothes tags (and the backstories that go with them) are often ignored. Take photos and share on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using #insideout, asking retailers ‘Who made my clothes?’
2. Demand to know who made your clothes! Email/tweet/message/call/pester companies who have produced the clothes you wear. Find out the story behind the supply chain and make sure you share responses with Fashion Revolution on Twitter.

Your clothes already tell a story about who you are. Now they can tell a better one.

GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…

/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/ Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
