We can hardly believe that it’s already December. The month of living in constant denial that it’s almost the end of the year and living in a permanent state of indulgence-coma. With everything in excess, time spent travelling between A to B tends to be time trying not to fall asleep. Moments like these call for artists who let you slip into a happy daze…this week we’re bringing you two.

First up is a little-known but absolutely delightful band called Lazy Day. This week we found ourselves at the Waitingroom, where the band played their first live show.

What started out as a solo project by singer-songwriter Tilly, has now become Lazy Day…a four-member band with a warm, fuzzy, faraway sound.

As one might say, from humble beginnings grow wonderful things, and Lazy Day are a sure to be just that. There’s not much online yet, but take a listen to TV and our favourite, With My Mind, below…

If you want the definition of dreamy then look no further than Childhood. This English pop/rock/electro band, made up of Ben Romans-Hopcraft, Leo Dobsen, Daniel Salamons and Jonny Williams, formed in 2010 and have been bringing the world sweet sweet music ever since then.

With raspy, smooth, seductive vocals and brilliant meditative musical mastering, Childhood has got it just right…and we love it! Their debut album, Lacuna, was released earlier this year and includes not-to-be-missed tracks Falls Away, Chiliad and Right Beneath Me.

Our pick is of course their 2012 single Blue Velvet…take a look at the video below and be sure to catch them live when they play at XOYO for an NME Awards Show on February 5 next year…

And don’t forget to check out Global Cool’s Music Radar Spotify playlist to keep up to date with the hottest new music when you’re on the bus/train/tube to work….

GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…
/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/ Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
