Last week we headed to Dingwalls, one of London’s prized small venues, to see Wolf Gang perform. We have some very fond memories of Dingwalls, having caught a few up-and-coming artists there over the years, and last week was no exception…

First up were Winterhours, originally from Hampshire but recently moved to London. Although they are little known for now, they have spent the summer gigging across the UK, opening for several notable artists, and playing a string of summer festivals. They had their live performance down! Our favourite track would be their beautiful single Heart of Gold (2014). Check it out now…

Next up were the ever-elusive Secret Company. This four-piece band from Essex have been causing a lot of online hype with their recently released single Saviour (2014). Although their game plan is to remain as mysterious as possible, these guys are undoubtedly making a name for themselves.

Their live performance was brilliant…a little alternative, a little indie-pop, a little 80s, a little gritty but all in all entrancing. Other tracks to check out are Fever Of Love and Burning Through The Night. Take a listen to Saviour below and watch this space…

Headlining were of course Wolf Gang. After spending nearly two years touring, writing and recording they were finally back in London for a homecoming gig – just in time for the release of their new album Alveron (2014). We’ve been following these guys for sometime, after just happening upon them at another brilliant live venue Madame Jojo’s in Soho.

Take it from us… their live performance is unbelievable. The setlist was a perfect mix of well-loved tracks off their debut album Suego Faults (2011) and a few absolutely stellar tracks off the new album. To avoid us listing almost their entire repertoire of songs as our favourite picks, we’ll limit it to two off their new album: Now I Can Feel It and Black River.

Take a look at the video for Black River below…

And don’t forget to check out Global Cool’s Music Radar Spotify playlist to keep up to date with the hottest new music when you’re on the bus/train/tube to work….

frankensteinHere comes the science bit…

GC articles show you one of four ways (the one in bold) to live greener…
/ Be a winner (not a binner) /
/ Turn up the style (not the heat) /
/ Love the trend (not the spend) /
/ Do it in public (not the car/plane) /
